Here is a list of some of my favorite musicians.
|
Savage Garden
|
When the group came out with their first hit "I Want You,"
I knew I was going to like their music. So I went out and
bought their self-titled album. Around the beginning of '98,
another song from this album hit the chart ---
"Truly, Madly, Deeply".
When I saw the music video of this song, it immediately hit
a tender spot in my heart. I knew it was filmed in Paris
right away, as I visited that city a few years back. There were
so much more to see and feel than time allowed, it made me
feel "homesick" to Europe.

George Benson
|
Since the release of "Breezin'"
almost 20 years ago, I have been a fan of George Benson. Love
his light and playful touch on the guitar strings. His latest
album "That's Right" is a very nice one to have as
BGM while working at my 'puter. In the fall of '97, George Benson
came to Victoria for a one-night-only concert. I went there,
of course, and enjoyed it immensely. His music never fails to
melt my heart. Oh, BTW, I got his autograph on the cover of his album. :-)

Collective Soul
|
When they came out on the hit chart with
"December" from their self-titled
album, I just fell in love with them. Now their second album
"Disciplined Breakdown" is out and my favorite is
"Giving."

Enigma
|
I sometimes end up working backwards, and Enigma was one such case.
"Return to Innocence" had a great impact on me, bought
the album "The Cross of Changes," discovered that there
was a first album, bought it, and so on. Of all three albums they
have released, my favorite is their first one "MCMXC a.D."

Enya
| This is another good BGM type of music
while writing. My cranky hub calls it "elevator music"
but my son calls it "elegant music perfect for a romantic
date." Hhhmm, my son seems to have better taste than his
father.... Some of her pieces I enjoy playing on the piano.
