Family Cruise to the Bahamas

Tada!

Actual Bahamian sunrise taken off the top deck by yours truly.
The superimposed image of Aya is created by Aya herself.

Blast off

We stayed one night in Cocoa Beach in FL before we got on our ship, the "Soverign of the Seas" of the Royal Carribean. Cocoa Beach is near Cape Canaveral, where space shuttles take off. Here are Aya and I ready to take off into our splendid holiday.

Cabin

Here we are nicely settled into our stateroom. We had an outside stateroom on Deck 6 just below the Promenade Deck. The bed/couch we are sitting on was for Jack, and the top bunk you see on the right side was Aya's, and below her was me. The cabin was rather small but very functional.

Polly

During the first night dinner, a pirate captain came to our table with Polly!

Nassau

Here is a view of the Port at Nassau. The pinkish colored structure on the left in the distance is the Atlantis Resort. This is only an outermost view of the port. One white ship at the outmost, then the Disney ship "Wonder," followed by the Westerdam of Holland America Line, and the inner most (by the shore) was the spot our ship docked.

Atlantis Throne

In a hallway connecting the Casino to the rest of the Resort was this gigantic Throne of Atlantis. Aya and I had to sit on it and have a picture taken. Hey, we can't help it. We are tourists!

Coconut Drink

This is on a private beach at Atlantis. Aya had a real coconut drink for the first time.

Centrum

On the second night, there was a Captain's Champaign Gala and Dinner. We got all dressed up and had a picture taken at the Centraum of the of the ship.

Official Photo

This is an "official photo" taken by the ship's photographer.

But of course Aya would not be satisfied with a conventional pose, so she had to do it in her own style.

Coco Cay

Our 3rd day was a day visit to a little private island Coco Cay.

Snorkel

We had great fun snorkeling ...

Beach

... and lounging on the beach.

Shuffle Board Champions

On the last day, a day at sea, Aya and I entered into a Shuffle Board Tournament .... and we won! Well, because there was no one else entered. Still, it was a lot of fun. (This photo was taken during our practice on the second day.... we've practiced everyday, you know.)
